Hit Tracker
.

A hit-tracker will allow you to count the number of hits you're getting on any webpage and track the time of day when those hits are occurring. You can put them on your webpages to see which pages are getting hits and which aren't. You can also put them on auction listings, forum posts and so on.

Click here to see an example hit-tracker. Click here to see the actual page the hit-tracker is on.

This hit-tracker will count both raw and unique hits. A unique is somebody who hasn't visited the page containing your hit-tracker in the last 24 hours. If, for example, they visit twice within a 24 hour period then it will count (and show up in the statistics) as one unique hit and two raw hits. This way you can tell how much of your traffic is unique, and how much represents repeat visits from the same people within a 24 hour period.

Please note that if you wish to give other people access to your password protected Control Panel, so that they can view the statistics for this hit-tracker, then don't select the "Allow reset" option below as that will allow anyone with access to the Control Panel to reset the hit-tracker stats.

If you use a lot of hit-trackers then you may find the Hit Tracker Manager very useful.

To get started, just enter your details into the form below and press "Submit" to continue to the next step.

Password (used to display the statistics relating to this hit-tracker). Important! Remember this password, you can't recover it if you forget it!

www.yourdomain.com/name_h.php

...where "name" is whatever you enter here.

Do you want chronological stats? If you check the box below then you'll be able to see what time of the day your hits are occurring. If you don't require this facility, leave the box unchecked.

YES

Allow reset? Check the box below if you want to allow the hit-tracker to be reset from the Control Panel, otherwise leave it unchecked. Don't select this option if you'll be allowing others to view your stats though the Control Panel - if you do they'll be able to reset it.

YES

Turn unique IP tracking off? Normally you would leave this box unchecked (keeping unique IP tracking on), but if you expect to receive a lot of traffic then you may want to switch this feature off to make the script run more efficiently. In this case, cookies will be used to differentiate raw hits from uniques. This method is less accurate than IP tracking because not everyone has cookies enabled.
